In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?













We produced our own production credits as this was a more professional and independent way of introducing our film. We used editing to fade the background colour from colour to black and white to give it a industrial effect which would make our film look more professional.

We used this text to relate to the films genre of horror as it represents the theme of a scary horror film. We edited this into the clips by fading in and out to give the effect of this may happen to them next. The text was also used to tell the viewers what had been happening in the woods, and what could happen and will happen the these two boys going for a camping trip.

We started the film off with a shot of a small stream in the woods. We did this so the audience could get a view of where the film was set. We also used this as it would be seen as a typical convention of a horror genre film because it is a gloomy remote setting. the close up shot shows the reflection of the water wich adds to the atmosphere of the setting.





This medium shot of the two characters shows that they are two stereotypical teenage boys as they are both wearing sport like clothing which is usually associated with teenage boys.the shot also shows the setting of the narrative is the woods which is a conventional setting for a horror film. The title in the corner is the actors name for one of the teenage characters in the shot this is conventional for an opening of a film as it informs the audience who the actors are featured in the narrative.

WHAT KIND OF MEDIA INSTITUTION MIGHT DISTRIBUTE YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT AND WHY?

HAMMER FILMS

I have chosen Hammer Films to be our distribution company because they distribute many different horror films in just the UK such as The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death. I wanted to use this company 

Our film will be released  with a national marketing campaign and we will use things such as posters, teaser trailers and YouTube teaser clips. Social media could also be used to promote the film by giving behind the scenes pictures and clips.

hammer films is an important film distributor as they have a major role in the film industry in the UK at distributing and producing films.

The British film institution have helped fund our film alongside British sponsors. They see in the importance of keeping the British film industry alive.

Our actors are named in the titles. At the start of the film, our production company Vulture Productions and our film company Dark Forest Films are named and their logos are shown. This is followed by the actors names.

The titles of our characters are presented through fades. The name of the director should be present however there has been disagreements with the director so he is not featured.

A production company provides physical basis for works in the film industry. Our production company Vulture productions is a British film company as we want to stop the american film industry from taking over and keep the British film industry alive.
Our film is similar to a lot of the films that Hammer films have produced such as The Women in Black 2.

Story Board

The pictures that i used in the mood-board were different in contrast to the film, the clip sections were a lot longer than i anticipated. The clips went on for about 5 seconds more on each one, some longer than others, therefore when we film our opening we need to ensure that we film the shots so they stick within the two minuet time. We added different clips as well to improve the film, such as Jordan getting attacked by the guy in the woods and other clips such as the guy running after James

Evaluation 2

Both have similar costumes, where they are wearing sports clothes, hoodies, fashionable clothes for teenagers. Both have a similar build, typically attractive to attract a females audience. Young male teenagers could identify the characters as the are relate-able. They are both main characters involved in the horror action. They also both build up tension for the film.
