The typical viewer of horror films is male and aged between 15-25.Also males as they are typically found to be looking for more 'thrill seeking' viewing and horror films offer the elements of fear, panic and the unpredictable. Women tend to appreciate more lighthearted films such as comedies and romance. However in recent studies females have begun to exceed male horror viewing figures for the first time.
